I shall inclose to you a list by which you will see at one view the result of my labour.  In the column for Kew Plants you will observe there are none of Doctor Anderson's or any curiosity plants, (as we vulgarly call them) as we cannot properly ascertain the number - The common plants such as guavas [indecipherable] were taken up because we had spare vessels & conceived they might be a variety from those in Iamacia [Jamaica].

I am now under the command of Commodore Ford who I have no doubt wil permit me to sail the mement I declare myself to be ready -  I think it will be about the 1st of April -  We expect hourly to have news of a war, and as I reported my ship fit & ready for sea on my arrival, I am moored as the [indecipherable] ship of the squadron to defend Port Royal.  Six four pounders of a side is formidable —
