Sir

          my advice to you relative to the probability of your being elected a Fellow of the R.S. was if I rightly remember to wait till you had an opportunity of doing something that would recommend you to their Choice which in S. Wales is that Country most abound with objects of that list utterly unknown in Europe I thought it Probable you might soon have an opportunity of Effecting.

          at present my opinion Continues the same, & whether if you are prepard as a Candidate now you will or will not be elected is a risk which I would not advise you to Run.  your other Friends however who must know the opinions of the members, as well as me should be consulted upon the subject
