Met Sir John Henslow June 23d at Deptford
agreed that the dimensions of the Plant Cabbin should be the same as that of the Discovery only as he thought it Right to Place this upon 3 inch [indecipherable] that 3 inches headway was to be allowed for the Plants more than in the Discoveries which stand flat on the Deck - the whole to be fitted with boxes instead of Pots which will be 18 in all of 21 inches square inside measure & 13 inches high
I repeatedly asked if the size 6 by 12 feet would not be too large for the Ship & produce inconveniences in working her in which case the dimensions [of?] might & ought to be diminished but was always told that it would do very well
