That with all our untoward events, this settlement has been thrown back you will readily conceive, & I assure you that we are far from being at this time, where we should have been at the end of the second year if the Guardian had arrived.

Of the natives very little information has been obtained, & what I have sent to Mr. Nepean on the subject, I send merely because I suppose something would be expected, you will see it of course. Many of these people are now as much at home at Sydney as they are in their woods, but in bringing this about they treated me rather roughly, however I dont find any inconveniency from the hurt I received.
