Sydney Cove November 17th/88

Dear Sir

I have had the pleasure of writing to you by the Golden Grove in which Ship I have sent two Tubs of Plants, & in the Fishburn there are likewise two Tubs of plants, one the pepper from N. Island, & three small boxes addressed to you. I hope another year to be able to get some good Seeds collected, a good botanist, or indeed any person that had an Idea of Botany, would be a valuable acquisition to this Settlement, if the procuring Black-lead from this Country, is hereafter thought worth the attention of Government, I presume (if what I have sent to you & Mr Nepean) is Black lead, it may be got in any quantity. people who' call themselves judges, say there are mines
