July 1st. 1808

Sir

I beg leave to represent to you for the information of my Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty, that during the absence of His Majesty's Ship Porpoise, in January last, I ordered my broad pendant to be hoisted on board a government Colonial Schooner called the Estramina, but on the 27th January the day after the usurpation of the government by Major Johnston he sent a written order to Mr. Apsey, Master of her to haul it down, which he did. -A Copy of this order has lately been sent to me from Mr. Apsey, and I enclose it for their Lordships information.

I have the honor to be, Sir,
Your most obedient
humble Servant

(Signed) Wm Bligh

To

The Honorable
 William Wellesly Pole
Secretary to the Admiralty
