NATIVE NAMES
From "HISTORIC:" - A few years ago a well-educated Murray native told me that the native name for the Mrray River is Monkole - Mon-kol-le. I forget the meaning. The Cooring should be Cooree, which means a "long neck." It seems hard to credit that we have not record of the names and meanings, also legends of the Murray natives.
