Dear Sir/ I cannot allow the opportunity you have afforded me/ by subjoining your address,/ to pass without writing to express my warmest thanks for the kind care you have taken of the little note intrusted to you by my Daughter, the receipt of which afforded me inexpressible comfort. I should have been most happy could you have paid us a visit, but as Mrs Slater refers me to you for every informa- tion concerning them, perhaps you will favor me with a letter, should your engagements permit. I am fearful our letters were in the two East Indiamen, which are lately lost. I beg to offer you my sincere congratulations on your safe arrival and to subscribe myself Your obligd obedt Servant
