of work. On my way back I had a yarn with one of the pigeon fraternity. We use pigeons for conveying messages from the front line etc & at present have no fewer than 70 movable lofts. The birds are brought over as squeakers from England. Two birds are always entrusted with the same message as they sometimes get knocked but they apparently have no trouble in passing through a barrage
Tuesday 22nd. May
C.section marched out again at 7.30 A.M to take over the Scabies Hospital at Aveluy again. Took over at 12 midday & spent the afternoon squaring things up.
