entered the heads about 2.30 having had a good view of the beaches from Cronulla up. We were soon stirred. A tug boat met us, on board of which were representatives of the Comforts funds & they wildly cheered us whilst their band played Home Sweet Home. Many a silent tear was dropped. Then as passing Ferry boats saw us they gave Cockadoodle with their sirens and the few representatives with us from other States were lavish in praise of both the harbour & our reception, nothing of which had been attempted in the other states. We dropped anchor whilst the Quarantine authorities came aboard & inspected the ship after which we proceeded up the harbour to Woolloomooloo. Ferry boats blowing their sirens as we passed.
