plants, the seeds of which have been promiscuously sown in the different pots.
The Seeds of which you have a Catalogue are in a Box directed to your particular Care, this I have done with a view that you may have an opportunity of dividing & distributing a part of them in any way you may think proper; they were not collected for this purpose, but I have been induced at the request of the Committee to add them to the Collection.
My professional Avocations & an indifferent state of health leave me but little time for pursuits of this kind, I shall however be happy if at any time I can contribute to the Collection of West India Plants in the Kew Gardens
I am Sir your obedient
humble Servant

The Time is not yet fixed for the sailing of the Providence, but we imagine it will be in the Course of ten days or a fortnight; at all events I have thought it better to write you by this Conveyance; Dr. Dancer also writes you with the Catalogue of Plants he has collected.
I have several Times in Company with Mr. Smith (who has been very active in lending his Assistance) search'd for the Scavola Lobelia & one or two other Plants mention'd in your Catalogue, but without Effect.
