[Draft reply by Banks]
Revd. Sir
On the Receipt of your Letter of the 19th I made immediate application in compliance with the contents of it & have reason to believe this I shall succeed in Part if not entirely.
Passage for seven six persons is certainly a favor of [indecipherable] magnitude. but This I have asked for with the usual rations, Provisions for sea & some extra indulgences for Tapeoe who must look only to government for assistance while the rest can no doubt be provided with the necessaries they will want beyond the usual allowances if government takes upon its [itself] the cost of Passage & Rations. I trouble you with this merely to tell you that your request is not neglected. As soon as the [indecipherable] are over I hope to get it completed.
