This Town's Inhabitant are smuglers, & not having any thing to do in that line at this moment, it is a poor insignificant place. Its Inn is a Public House, from whence I set out early in the Morning, & return to it at Night, & dine & sup on a Mutton Chop, making but one of the two Meals. As soon as I find I have done all that is necessary to explain and print [out ?] the Anchorage, I shall return to Town.
If anything particularly occurs I shall in inform You, & when I return you shall know the amount of what I have done. With most sincere wishes that you may keep free of the Gout & enjoy your absence from Town.
I remain with my repectful Compliments to the Ladeis My Dear Sir
Your faithful and
Affectionate humble Serv.t
Wm Bligh
