If you approve of it on my arrival in the River I can with my own Boats & People carry all the Plants to Kew without giving you the trouble to prepare craft, but I cannot carry them covered over head they must go exposed in any Boats - being taken care of by my own people could be an advantage.
I have written to the Admiralty by this opportunity.

The Packet has determined to keep company with me.
Off Cape Clear [Ireland] I saw no ships of any kind. Yesterday the 29th July I fell in with the wind.Windd. [Isld?] Convoy under the Command of Captain Dod in the Charon, with the Centurion & Scorpion. The day before the Winehelsen left them with 60 sails for St. Georges Channel. I have parted from them & the Packet is in sight of her Port & will be the means of your receiving this much earlier than by any other means you could hear of my arrival.
