winged state before they had attaind their full compleat size a circumstance I had not before till then so fully observd yet the herbage below & the fields in the neighborhood remaind untouched - both there & at Stilton the trees & hedges recoverd their leaves in the Autumn & except perhaps a few weakly ones were next year as vigorous as ever before
