prevented me from reading my Lectures. I should have had rather a numerous class that I flatter myself Botany is making some Progress at Oxford.
Among my Plants that have appeared from the Greek Seeds I have some young Plants of the Astragalus Christianus this is figured in Tournaforts Voyage & is undoubtedly the Astragalus described by Dioscorides. I do not know whether they have this Plant at Kew - if not I would send it with four others Mr. Ayton [Aiton] wished to have. I never felt more Impatience to see a work than the Hortus Kewensis. I am in daily hopes, that this impatience will soon be gratified.
I have taken the Liberty of sending to Soho Square a Packet of specimens of Green [indecipherable] & Stove Plants - which we have lately raised from Cuttings, on that
