The Justinian carried you my sincere thanks for your kind intentions of furnishing us with the fruits of Europe, & when I heard of the loss of the Gorgon, I still flattered myself that your second attempt would have been successful; but so many months have now past since that ships arrival might have been expected, that I have given up all hopes of ever seeing her. Fifty tubs of flowering shrubs are ready to send away when an opportunity offers, & as the plants have been some months in the tubs, & are
