Norfolk Island - Novbr. 29 1794

Dear Sir

The Short time that the Salamander Stays here to get a Boltsprit  but rarely affords me time enough to pay my Respectful Compliments to you & Lady Banks

The Master of the Whaler (Irish) tells me he likes to see & take Care of a Garden on-board his Ship & he also Says he took you some plants from St. Helena  I have Ten Boxes, Six of which Contain Flax Plants, & four Flax Plant, Pines, Yellow Wood, Jasmin, the Pear Vine, & some other Trees, particularly, a number of the Blood Wood, which proves an Excellent Varnish, I have put them onboard, & fitted the Boxes with Covers, he Seems attentive & will I dare Say,  take great Care of them, as far as Valparaiso, when he will deliver them to the first returning whaler, with the Copy
