FORWARD

Thinking that my own people would like to have some idea of what had been going on, after the departure of the First Division sailed from Sydney for Egypt, & the Dardanelles, I set down these few experiences herein related.

Whilst I was typing them, it occurred to my mind, that they might also be of great interest to many others, who had never read such particulars in print. I do not lay claim to any merit as a writer - but the facts as related here, are a true and unbiassed account of what really happened in the time stated and may be of such interest to those who have had, & still have Relations at the front.
