They got boosed together the night they met.  Twas a mile end summers night 
She called him Bill, her cap at him set. & their pints shone pure & bright 
Even the potman told him she was false.  To the police she was known as Nell. 
But he danced the drunks eternal prance in the house where she did dwell. 
Til he reeled from her door with his jaw half broke [& pockets with nothing in]
