20th  We left [Sains?] this morning at 9.30 am and marched to Rivery a scattered town of about 2600 inhabitants. We marched via [indecipherable] crossed the [indecipherable] Helpe river, passed Liessies and lunched on the roadside just before we entered the Bois [indecipherable]  at 1 pm sharp.  we trekked on again through [indecipherable] and at 1.30 pm crossed the Belgian border and at once entered the Bois de [indecipherable] Veut.  We rested about half
