Saturday 11 May [1918]
Up at 10. Very "dud". Played baseball in afternoon. Tested my machine & found the gear dud again! Went to dinner at the Wing.

Up at 7.30 & to 8 Mass. After breakfast went to Witney with Major Learmount & spent the morning there. Lunch at the Marlbro with Bentley & Haynes. Back to Wing

Rest all day & write some letters.
Receive old letters in bunch dated Feb & March.
Post my home letter dealing with our late fight also note to A.G.

Harness inspected on horses by Cpt Ferguson. Very satisfactory.

After run with Milly on racecourse. Things fair. Afternoon writing. Overcast day.

Day passed with the ordinary grooming cleaning etc. Cricket match watched in evening. No. 4 Section beat HQ etc by 16 runs.

Things as usual grooming morning, grazing afternoon.

Evening on picket for loosing horse inside the lines. Evening completed mail. Study.

Sunday 22 Sept.
Afternoon played football against 11 Bde. Rained, cold wind so not too pleasant. Lost the match by 14 points. To bed early.

Tuesday 24 Sept.
Just the same all day. Evening walked to Doingt for papers. Returned with 3 papers & found the tent already full of them.

Not too good but got up a bit & sat near the fire. In bed early in afternoon.

Had breakfast in bed but dinner & tea at the mess. Much better, but need to be very careful of the cold.
