I start work at  J&Cs.  I work opposite P.D's with P. as my cobber. I am shown things and the collars amuse me. I dream that Princess.

Thursday, 2 February 1922

I go to Hurstville, music and billiards. Dick and I talk about mutual Friends.  Dick gets tea and I get Brekie. I mange beaucoup des peches.

I go to Harpers for Billiards and chatter. Olive and Dick call. Everybody happy.  Dick's pianola and picaninny talked up.  Dots removal with pleasure.

Monday, 22 May 1922

Develop film. Red lamp goes out and it gets spoilt. Sew blazer until 9.30   Hear of poor Rob's accident. Meet Mum at 108, Ellis is nearly blown up too.

I go to Harpers after Pog's and Otto. We play billiards, I win the last game nicely.  We talk of tennis and Tuggerah. I get a ring from P.P.

I meet the boys at the markets. We go home empty.  Nothin' doin'. We go to Went'ville on a wild goose chase. I see Mrs B.  Go to W. Street.
