enthusiasm . We received a great send off by the citizens who had the privilege to see their loved ones depart. We arrived on the wharf at 11.30 AM but did not embark until 5 PM the ship which is 15,000 tons, is a beautiful one, & is very nicely fitted up in every way. Every convenience possible being provided. Two incidents worthy of note took place prior to our embarkation. One was the breaking of the citizens through the guard with fixed bayonets.
