& Mrs McCubbin was house keeper for John Kerrshe being his cousin. Up till this time theHotel & Mr Croxons residence we the only twohouses. Then came a Mr Robert Nelson fromMoredavale a very small Station at that timehe Mr Nelson erected a large store. Which heafterwards put an addition to for an Hotelalso he had the store & Hotel as well thatthen being the second Hotel he Mr Robert Nelsonkept both those buisness on till his deathwhich took place a good many years after,his wife then kept this buisness on for afew years & married again to a man bythe name of John Enright & then soldout to a man by the name of Mr SawdsMr & Mrs Enright then went on the land a fewmiles away. There is different ones of each ofthoses families the Nelson's & Enrights aboutthese parts at the present time. During thistime William Kerr the carrier met with aserious accident which caused his death hisbrother John went out of his mind with theshock of Williams death. Their property wasthen purchased by a Mr Robert Neilson & aMr Caddell it was known as R Neilson & Cothis firm then made a great deal ofalterations in the buildings & alsoerected a large flour mill which isstill standing just a near the presentPolie Station. I should have said inMr James Westens time he owned aWater Mill in the river where he used togrind his own wheat as he always hada small crop in. In Mr Alfred Croxon'stime the police stationed here wasChief Constable Charles Thorpe, GeorgeHelem's & Henry Goldsmith they were both
