his residence was some where towardsMudgee & after his resignation there wasa Mr Alexander McEwen whos sonMr G. B. McEwen is an auctioner at thepresent time. The Catholic Priest FatherRigney used also visit here fromsingleton. The Church of EnglandMinister was a Mr Wilson he usedalso to visit here as there were no churchesWhere as at the present time there isfour churches & a Salvation Armybarracks. The Hotel purchased by MrNeilson at the time mentioned was alsorebuilt. there as been also a goodmany changes in the keepers init at the present time there is a twostory brick building still owned byR,Neilsin although Mr RobertNeilson as been dead some time hisson William Thomas Neilson stillkeeps the business. There was a manby the name of Edward Lyons whowas an old man here at the earlypart of this time who built a Hotelin John street he then sold to a manby the name of Bruff. he was asolicitor. he Mr Bruff then sold outto a Mr George McHugh who thensold out to a Mr John Lee. McHughdied shortly after he sold out. MrLee built or I should say had a finetwo storey brick building erected & hethen sold out & that Hotel as alsochanged hands a good many times.opposite this hotel is a small woodencottage which was a small goods store kept inthe early day by a Mr & Mrs McDonald
