1st Augt 1785

Dear Sir,

I beg leave to acquaint you, that a severe but short illness prevented me from embarking in Capt Wright on the 25th of July. He was not candid in telling me he meant to stay till this day if he had I should not have engaged with any other.

I sail this evening in the ship Jarrett Capt Jas. Palmer for Bristol.  I have a fresh supply of Cassada and some sweetmeats for Lady Banks, I have also two large Trunks with dried specimens shells &c address'd to you. And in case of
