Calcutta 31st Decr 1811

My Dear Sir

A few seeds some of them I consider interesting, have been gathered in the garden. & procured from the Garrow hills, since Dr Fleming left us. I send them under the care of Dr Haynes of the Madras Medical establishment  He goes on the Harleston Captn Walker by way of Bencoolen and promises to look out for novelties for you on Sumatra.

Captn  Walker has offered to bring any growing plants my friends may wish to send to this Garden. I have therefore given him a letter, & list of what we most want to deliver to Aiton, have the goodness to second my application.

I am with much regard & esteem
My Dear Sir
Yours very obediently
W. Roxburgh
