Sir

     I have given in charge to Mr. Hughes Baillie, who returns to England, with his Family, on the Ship Cambden, a parcel containing Specimens of dried plants addressed for you, to the care of Mr MacLean, of the Custom House, and I beg your acceptance of them. Permit me, at the same time, to request that you will favour me with any remarks that may occur relative to the mode of preserving and packing such plants.
