Places, so as eventually to save much time if assailed by foul winds on his return to the westward, from Port Jackson. Another Advantage will be, that if accident should prevent the prosecution of the Voyage of Discovery, after the Arrival of the Ship at Port Jackson, we shall have so much done, at all Events; & it will be known to future Investigators, where to expect Inlets or Straits.

Page 8. D. If I mistake not there is a Bank of Soundings off the NW side of New Holland, to a great Extent. If so, it would be a good thing to know the depths & quality of Ground, in a line between the Trial Rocks & Timor; to assist in correcting Reckoning, without making the land on either side; I mention this because this Passage may perhaps be frequented in future Times.
I fear I have said but little that is of any Importance.
