Right Honorable
Sir Joseph Banks Bart,
Soho Square
London

I am going to inform you that Mr Suttor has for a long time been afflicted with the flux.  About 2 months ago I thought he was past recovery.  Of late he is a little better, but it appears doubtful whether he will get the better or not.  Bad living he ascribes to be the primary cause of his complaint.  Anything that you send that will be useful to me in Natural history will be highly acceptable, for though I have suffered much since i have been here by bad living & other unforeseen matters, yet I am as eager to know the Natural produce of the country as ever.
