Mr. Motteux presents his Compliments to
Mr. Bankes & Dr. Solander; and sends
the copy of a letter he has received from
Switzerland, relating to two astronomical
Clocks they have advertised for in the
foreign prints; Mr. M. will, with
great pleasure, forward any answer
those gentlemen may think proper
to make to Mr. De Saulgy's proposals.

Ans[were]d Sep[tembe]r 6 1773
[Dr?] S & Mr. B return Mr. Motteux a thousand thanks for the
trouble he has had in copying & transmitting to them their [part?]
of Mr. De S. letter which related to them the most however
intreat him to give himself the additional trouble of informing
that gentleman that he is much mistaken in the information
he has received of Mr. S & B having ever advertised for the [Pendulurs?]
