Dear Sir Joseph

I am in hopes I have found out a very proper person as Surgeon of the Xenophon.  I enclose a letter I had from him this morning, which I think will rather prepossess you in his favor.  We have actually appointed him and removed the Surgeon of the Xenophon to the Sea Gull & I have written a private letter to the Commander of the former to let his Surgeon go as soon as possible to supersede the other that he may come to town for Some
