27th March 1801.

Sir

     The Committee of Shipping of the East India Company having in consequence of your Letter to the Chairman dated the 23d, Instant, resolved that an Allowance of Twenty Guineas each should be made you for the Accommodation of the Gardener and Practical Miner who are proceeding in the Investigator, I am directed by the Committee to acquaint you herewith, and to desire that you will draw upon Mr. Charles Thomas Coggan, the Companys Paymaster at this House, for the Sum of Forty Two Pounds accordingly.
