Dear Sir

on Perusing the Paper with which you have been so good as to Furnish me it does not appear to me that the Court of directors intend to give to the Six Scientific assistants employd on board the Investigator any claim &c those of the Limited allowance of mess money made to Capt Flinders & his officers as however reference is made in the Paper to the Scientific Establishments on board the Vessel doubts may arise on the subject in the minds of the Parties Concerned which doubts will certainly be referd  to me for decision.  I therefore beg the favor of advice from you specifying the intentions of the Directors on this subject  for my guidance in what will be Esteemd a Favor bestowd on
your most Faithfull Sert
