his whole hopes destroyed without uttering some complaint.

At present my chief care is for the Remainder of the Plants some of which have survived this unlucky business you will oblige me much if you will say a word to King & Empower Menzies to bring them up from the Port in which the discovery may Land them in the same manner as Hawes were brought from Plymouth as I well remember that the King expressd much satisfaction at the attention which was shown on that occasion to his Gardens which of late he has attended to much more than previously.

As Menzies was wholly under my orders he has declined to deliver up his Journals to the Capt they being very much under the instructions given to him by me, their Lordships will please to decide whether these Journals shall be sent up to the board or deliverd immediately to me & Menzies will instantly obey their will on this subject.
