To Evan Nepean [indecipherable] April 1 1801

Dear Sir

I have recd from the Navy board an answer to hasten the men of science who are to embark on board the Investigator & place them on board without delay as this order has been issued in consequence of a letter from the Admiralty it becomes necessary for me to remind you that no agreement of any kind has yet been entered into either for the pay or the duty of these gentlemen & that untill this has been done it is improper for me to direct them to Leave London.
