from Lord Yarmouth to Lord Howick stating that Captain Mylius had been allowed to negociate his Exchange for any officer of equal rank now a prisoner in France; in consequence of which his Lordship named Captain Brenton.

His Lordship desires me to add that both before & since the release of Captain Mylius, so many officers have been allowed to return to France on their Parole, for whom no return has been made, that he must decline consenting to the release of more under any circumstances, till the French Government shall appear disposed to adopt more liberal conduct.

I am My dear Sir,
Your most faithful humble Servant
 Wm Marsden

The right Honble Sr. Jos. Banks Bar't
