Admiralty Office, 22d August 1804

Sir

Having laid before my Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty your Letter of this day's date, relative to the Drawings of Mr. Westhall, [Mr. Westall] the artist employed on board the Investigator;  I have their Lordships Commands to send you the Package containing the said Drawings, agreeably to your desire, in order to their being kept in a state of preservation until that Artist's return.

I have their Lordships further Commands to recommend your taking such steps for the care and preservation of the Plants you mention and other specimens of Natural History as you may judge proper.  I am,
