Oct 31 Prepard a bed for Acorns in the North East corner of the garden next the Artichokes.

In the western Range I planted 20 acorns taken from the tree near the Park Pond half of which was blown down last winter.

Charles Planted this bed with Garden [indecipherable]  my acorns.

Ordered Charles to Plow a good bed of [Carob? or Crab?] seeds in order to Furnish [indecipherable] [sticks?] for my old age.
