of the Division of the Court of Lincoln Created for the Purpose of procuring the Kings Peace.
Lincolnshire has from the Earliest times of which any Record remains been been subdivided into three Principal Divisions somewhat similar to the Ridings in Yorkshire in Law they are Calld Parts of the County as
The Parts of Lindsey The Parts of Kesteven The Parts of Holland
The seperate Commission of the Peace posses the great seal for Each of these divisions, consequently a seperate dedimus potestatem must be sued at for Each, some names of Gentlemen of the County are in one Comission only some in Two & a few in all three but these magistrates who have taken out their dedimus's for all the three divisions cannot be legaly sued allowd to be magistrates for the County, all penal laws therefore, the execution of which is committd to the County magistrates are inefectual in Lincolnshire tho many such are an [indecipherable] & are against the Stealing of Turnips passd only in the Last Session of Parliament.
One Peace officer only has Jurisdiction over the whole of the three divisions this is the Aestas [indecipherable] who appoints the three clerks of the Peace & does no doubt such other duties as belong to his office for every part of the three divisions.
