Sir

I am obliged to you for your account of the proceedings of the 1st district meeting which appear to me as perfectly irregular as the worst enemies of those who conducted it could wish it to be.

Respecting Mr Bates & his client the case he lay sent to me does not appear relevant it is not therefore necessary to send it to you when I have notice of his proceeding it will be time enough for me to [indecipherable] expence I have put in on one work appearance his process in the County Court & heard nothing further.

The Cattle were seizd & impounded by my Bailifs as Strays & were [indecipherable] under the an affirmation of the owner that he had a right of Common.  The next thing will be if his right is not allowd in my Court a presentment & an amercement there.  Till that is done it is not my interest to meet unless he does which I rather believe he will decline
