Dear Sister
Many thanks for your kind letter I shall thank your for it in Person next week. I have at last resolvd to keep a journal & performd the most of it so shall say little this post but that I am well & tolerably well pleasd with this fenny muddy countrey[sic] as the inhabitants of it have been civiler to me than I deservd.
My love to my mother & Mr Hodgkinson beleive[sic] me your affectionate Brother
