to one Island that may not happen to the others - 

I thought best to let Captain Bligh take the Strongest and healthiest plants to jamaica on acct. of the lengthened voyage - and as also there may be no proper receptacle to nurse them in there, and probably many of them may be sent to the different quarters of the Island & fall into hands who knows but little in nursing delicate plants.

Too much praise cannot be given to Captain Bligh for his bringing from the most distant part of the World & thro such a variety of Climates such a number of fine & healthy plants. in the prosecution of the object he has sacrificed his constitution, and I hope his merit will not go unrewarded.
