My dear Sir
as it very unpleasant to dun those with whom one has no acquaintance I take the Liberty to Remind you that on June 22 1798 I received a Letter from you [see 19.04] which authorisd & desired me to provide Plants & garden Tools to the amount of about £50 & to transmit the bill for the same to the treasury, that the said plants & tools were in consequence provided by me & put on board his majesties ship Porpoise in order to be carried to N.S.Wales which was done about the latter end of the year 1799 & that on the 25 of March 1800 I transmitted to the treasury an account of the money expended on purchasing these plants & tools & in replacing such as had died owing to the long [detour?] of the Porpoise, with a list of the Plants
all this my dear sir in consequence of my having Read in the newspaper that you are indeed the present minister [indecipherable] which I hartily hope for the advantage of the Country is not the case [indecipherable]
