the mob had chose to favor the undertaking.  The Evening proved cold & showry & windy; Every free born Englishman & woman (who were not of the party) seemed to take a pleasure in causing confusion.  I was first at Bentinks to see the Wager Boats - we looked out but could hardly observe them when they past by.  I was in Chelsea College Garden to there see the procession from the landing place through that garden, but night hid the shew upon that was to have been seen upon the water, and an illnatured showr [shower] made all the Ladies run and scamper as fast as their Legs could carry them, for fear of having their fine Cloaths spoilt.  The new Temple of Neptune or Dancing room was not finishd, so workmen were still
