                     Ecclisia Loquitus

Pray all well disposed Christian people
Help me to get back a Spire to my Steeple.
For when I view each Western Tower,
Suddenly grown full fifty feet lower;
And such depredations I sadly think on,
I'm sure I am apter
To suppose the Devil looks over Lincoln,
Than the Dean & Chapter.
Omne tulit punctum, qui miscuit utile dulci [indecipherable] Anglicè.
They've taken away all my Spires, & put the money in their pockets.
