Madeira Nov 23 1778

Dear Sir

Some weeks ago I wrot informing you of my return to this place, since that time there has been no opportunities for the W Indies except the October Paquet, which I did not embrace, expecting letters from you and also to hear if a convoy might be soon expected.

I now send you by way of Lisbon a Collection of Canary Plants a list of which is herein inclosed, with some observations, and also a small collection of seeds for Mr Aiton.

I received Brown's Hist, and the discription of the Cape for which I thank you: but I had heard nothing of the Catalogues. I beg to be remembered to D. Solander and I am Dr Sir

ever Yours &c
Frans. Masson
