I believe woud have attack'd us had it not been for a few Dogs we had with Us, they Surprisd & annoyd him so much as to occasion his running off, He was a Noble formidable looking Animal -

Capt. Paterson whose ill health occasions his return to England will take the Care of the Chart which I send you, it is a very rough performance, but it will Answer the end I had in View, "that of giving you a more perfect Idea of the Situation of our Chief Cultivation, than any other Manner of description, I have sent one to the Duke of Portland & to Lord Sydney -
