These are to Certify the Right Honourable the Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty that Mr. Philip Gidley King served as Second Lieutenant of His Majesty's Ship Sirius under my Command from the Twenty fourth day of October 1787 to the day of the date hereof; during which time he complied with the General printed Instructions and was never Absent from his Ship Six weeks at any one time except when on Duty with me on board His Majesty's Armed Tender Supply where he was borne on a Supernumerary list for Victuals only.

Given under my hand on board His Majesty's Ship Sirius at Port Jackson this 12th: day of February 1788.
